edge hanging in dbn

when i try to connect to the network for emails, it hangs and doesnt go through. then it went through later in the day. that was yesterday. today i cannot connect again.(fine in the morning) now it just freezes again, says its connecting but doesnt do anything. What's up, my phone, or the network?

using a brand new 6630.

The problem is most likely related to the final live testing of 3G in Durban (see 3G thread). I have alerted our radio planners of the issue but if you PM me your phone number I'll get them to call you tomorrow and check it out.

Hi Ash - use Netmon to turn off your WCDMA antennae until the testing is over. There is a glitch with some firmware versions on the 6630 that cause all sorts of problems switching between GSM and WCDMA.
Now may be the time to get that firmware upgrade done

MTNBB, if I have a problem today, I will pm you my details, otherwise I think you guys have enough to worry about with the 3G launch soon. Dont wish to distract you'll from that.

It was just a tad frustrating cos I needed to get my email urgently, but it came right fairly quickly.

BTW, Do you know which towers will be provisioned with 3G in durban from the outset?
