Now that I've got your attention, I'm looking for food grade grease. I stripped an cleaned my pasta roller, and had to remove the filthy old grease. Anyone know where I can buy some new. Preferably at a bricks and mortar shop in Alberton. Thanks.

If it's a manual pasta roller then I reckon you can get away without any grease at all. Lubrication of such slow moving parts operating so infrequently shouldn't be necessary. The gears are probably stainless steel which is pretty hard and I doubt you'd see any wear on them in your lifetime even if you make pasta with the thing every day. Grease will only trap flour and create a grinding paste on the gears which is probably worse than no grease at all.

Spanjaard have a spray-on food-grade grease though, I've seen it at places like Midas and Autozone. Otherwise commercial kitchen equipment suppliers will definitely stock it.

It's not manual, it's a Kenwood Major attachment. Still, it needs just a tiny amount of grease, on the gears and the stationary shaft that the adjustable roller rides on. The amount of grease that I had to remove was ridiculous. I'll look at that spray, but I think a grease will be better than an oil. Otherwise I' going to have to find a catering supply store.

The rest of you: Ha Ha, suckers.

Dischem has chocolate flavoured 'personal lubricant and moisturiser' that you could probably use in your food grade appliance.
Shouldn't taste too bad either.

It's a spray-on grease. It comes out white, and at high pressure, then when it hits it's target the propellant evaporates and leaves behind the grease.

Edit; I use it in my ECM Giotto Coffee machine for the levers and cam.

 @ OP, can try Durex Lube...... it's edible, and comes in a variety of flavours. Extra slippery should work well on your " machine" . #notcool

Use vaseline or lipice Its safe if you eat some.

For the pasta machine that is.
