Edit PDF document?

Guess I was wrong.. I thought that for a standard developed by Adobe and owned by them for significant period of time, they would at least have the tools to allow editing of documents based on the standard...

Are you sure about this? Coz I remember fiddling around with Adobe Acrobat Pro about 4 or 5 years ago, and for some reason I remember editing documents... ??

Might just be old age catching up with me...

Yes, I'm sure. You can edit the properties of the document, security and the meta tags. You can compress the image more... but you can't actually edit the image itself. You can select and copy text that is OCR'd, but you can't edit the text. I work with it every day for Brochures and Sales Promotions.

We get our supplier brochures and we then edit them to include our name and logo and South African prices.

The Foxit PDF Editor (link in post above) can edit text and graphics. Just visited their website and it seems they have a free trial. Check it out and see if it does what you want.

I needed to change an initial ...

Nitro PDF - works a charm - can edit a PDF directly - 99$ or trial version works fine

Nitro and Foxit as stated before, incase anyone else needed help in editing PDF docs. I have both, similiar, yet different features that I need. Adobe Acrobat is too expensive.

Also take into consideration that editing in the trial versions of these products (all of the ones mentioned) don't allow you to save the edited document.
