EFF provincial command team member Tsepo Mnisi said the agents were travelling to a registration station in ward 23 in the Nkomazi region when they were attacked.

"One member is in a critical condition at Tonga Hospital after he was hit with a big stone on his chest and lost consciousness at the scene. The other was pushed against a car with his head and he sustained a bleeding nose," said Mnisi on Sunday.

Mnisi said the incident happened while he and another team member, Maniki Dibakwane, were travelling in a vehicle to check registrations in ward 23.

"We were on the route from Langeloop towards Aniva village near Boschfontein in two vehicles. A large mob of people dressed in ANC t-shirts stopped us and began confronting us. They began swearing at us for no reason," he said.

Mnisi said the mob blockaded the road and attacked EFF members who were in the other vehicle.

EFF provincial leader Collen Sedibe condemned the attacks.

"It is always ANC members who are attacking our party members and we do nothing to retaliate. I believe the ANC leadership is aware of the attacks but they do nothing to control their members. They continue to perpetuate black-on-black violence," said Sedibe.

He said the EFF would lay criminal charges against the attackers.

ANC provincial spokesperson Sibusiso Themba declined to comment on the matter.

"I will not comment on something I did not witness. Ask the leaders in those wards," he said.

Implies X on Non-X colour violence is okay.
That's a logical leap of note. Like concluding that those who complain of violence against farmers must be okay with violence against non-farmers.

Not at all.

Why is black on black violence different to black on white or white on black ?

This is some delicious irony. We have the EFF flaming the fires in the student protests. But then they cry foul when they get a taste of their own medicine.

No, it is pretty weird to condemn black-on-black violence. Why not just say violence?

Violence against farmers is a specific issue, like violence against women. Condemnation of black-on-black violence just comes across as racist to me.

To be fair racist groups have pretty much hijacked the violence against farmers issue and conflated it with violence against white people, genocide watch level 9000 etc. A lot of the people that complain about that pretty much only care about white people.

Violence in general should be condemned.

All well and good when they are orchestrating violence at universities, but they sure do cry when they're on the receiving end elsewhere.

Cry more, please.
