Money probably 'disappeared' somewhere ... who knows
But things are looking bright for SACS cable which is set to go live within a matter of months. AngolaCables seems very credible and is behind the Angola INX which recently started moving traffic - http://www.angonix.net/about-angonix/statistics/
So it looks like there is some positive developments ahead with regards to a Southern Africa to Brazil link, irrespective of what happens to SAex
The problem with SACS is that it has no SA landing point. SO presumably ISP's will start routing to Angola soon (currently it all goes via the UK) via the likes of WACS, and then from Angola it will go to Brazil via SACS. Still a much, much better route to the US East coast and South America, than via Europe
