The regulations dont say you can use it so its a dark area in a dwelling . If above 2.5 m its maybe safe, trunking isnt classified as it cant be sealed and joining is a pest, you may not access the wires without using a tool to open, if you crimp and shrink seal, you may be ok, depending on the install.as for double insulated, putting it in trunking doesnt mean its double insulated only protected.wireways are classified to carry a certain amount of wire only depending on size of cable, that is critical. So difficult to say yes or no. I wouldnt use trunking in a house with standard conductors. But the regulations are quite clear on joints in a wire way.
