Hi

Anyone using Elastix in an outbound call center environment?
What modules are you using, what are the strong points, and the weaknesses?

We use Elastix in our office for about 14 people.. Can't comment on call center use but we do get a lot of calls haha.

FreePBX is just the GUI front end of the Asterisk, whether it be Elastix, PIAF ect they can all run FreePBX that makes it easier for those who cant set up in the CLI.

If you want to manage your agent performance then you want to look at QueueMetrics. If you want to automate your outbound dialling you can look at Vicidial. The latter generally requires some hands on work to get the best out of it so you may want to approach a company skilled in Asterisk and Vicidial if you can't manage it yourself.

personally i dont use the call centre module of elastix, but its there if you want to configure automated dialing. Works well too from the tests i've done.

I've seen ViciDial, it seems to be a complete package... anyone used it? Pros and Cons?

Hi Mo_to,
To answer is Elatix is going to work or not apart from just doing the calling out, what are you wanting it to do?
While the calling is probably essential to your business what else do you need ? What problem are you trying to solve with the software?

Regards

Tim

Pros:
Ramps up your agent efficiency by saving them from dialling dud numbers.
On full autodial agents don't get to twiddle thumbs or cherry pick customers to call.
Helps you manage customer calling lists and dispositions (i.e. call again, don't call etc.)
Can be integrated with QueueMetrics

Cons:
There is a bit of a learning curve so again get someone who knows what they are doing to set you up. Once setup you can manage lists and agents yourself but the support company should be on hand for support and customizations.
System resource hungry. You'll want to deploy a decent server class box for this and depending on the call centre size even go with a multi server setup.

you are correct, but what sets the distros's appart is the versions of asterisk they are running, Elastix and even Farsouth devices run embedded over freepbx, so elastix is a gui for freepbx which is a gui for asterisk, elastix still runs on Freepbx 2.8 on asterisk 1.8, where FreePBX is already at 2.10 and even running on asterisk 11.
