The latest newsletter from Bethesda Softworks reveals info on the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Collector's Edition.

Have a peek at some of the additional stuff:

- Enhanced Packaging (like the Lord of The Rings DVD movie packages)
- Bonus DVD
- Pocket Guide to the Empire (112 page book on Tamriel)
- Septim (Coin replica)

What the...? A 112 page book on Tamriel?? They can't be serious.

Hmm, the package really does look like those LotR DVDs! Ah what the hell, I'm a hopeless RPG fanatic, so I'll buy it, even if they include a pair of smelly socks and bunch of dead kittens as a bonus.

the book is smaller than A5 by the way... similar to the pocket size HL2 booklet you got with the Gold edition.

now i wonder if SA will get the Collector's Edition too in April.

Yeah. SA haven't lately got the special editions. NFS: Most Wanted (Black Edition) and CoD2: Collectors Edition are the most recent examples I can think of.

there were a few NFSU:MW black editions out but they are a rip-off since you can unlock all the BE cars in the normal edition via a small 3rd party patch.

EA is a big spinner when it comes to milking the cow lately...

Just an update on the Oblivion Collectors Edition, taken from BT Games's Weekly Gamer issues :

The Elder Scrolls Oblivion – Collectors Edition – ETA 12 April 2006

This is just to notify you that we will be receiving The Elder Scrolls Oblivion – Collectors Edition however we are still awaiting confirmation of launch price from Ster Kinekor. As soon as we receive this we will post the product onto the web and all who have already pre-ordered will be notified and given the opportunity to upgrade.

So we might end up with good news after all, hey? :)

dunno...i know Ster Kinekor has distribution rights for quite a few companies which release games in SA... the list escapes my mind ATM... coz its Friday... :p
