It's an elderly Basset Hound. So would say she is slightly bigger than a medium sized dog. Looking for something around 600x1000.

Anyone has experience with the Grass Patch Potty kits and/or can recommend something?

Saw the Wee-wee premium kit, but comes at a premium price and needs two of them.

Any product on takealot you can recommend?

Easy to clean?

Surely it is easier than cleaning the carpets and floors... Eish.

I've tried just the pet pee pads or news paper.... but she keeps going for the carpets and thinks she must avoid the pads or news paper. This is a problem when we are out during the day for just a couple of hours. Doggy door and leaving her outside is not an option as she goes nuts due to separation anxiety..... and she is LOUD.

Cheers!

Some dogs will never piss inside out of principal.

Yakes! Wood and Pee is not a great combination. Something with a plastic base is what I thought be a good idea. Rinse it with a hosepipe.
No man. Buy treated pine and paint it with something like woodoc 25. You won't have any issues

What is this new trend where dogs sleeps in the house? Sorry, mine sleeps in its kennel outside.

dnt have any solution , but similar problem in carpets now and again.i use citronella mixed with water spray lightly on areas where frequent accidents happen .i even spray potential areas as well. it's working thus far .then again mines a 8 month puppy.

Puppies takes a bit of work. But they eventually get it.

So I got two of these. You get different shops selling the same thing, just another label. Anything from R300 - R1500 for one. You decide. I am not really concerned about the weight or description as its easy to return with takealot.

I think I am happy with what I received given the price and gonna keep it. I don't think it is puppy friendly, if it was my puppy she will be pulling the grass matt apart. There is the Wee-Wee brand at a massive premium as everything is sold separately, but does look better for puppies.

Will keep posted how it goes. Hoping to teach an old dog new tricks kind of thing.

I just started fostering an unneutered & non-housebroken male 3yo Toy Poodle, Darryl, so housebreaking is my first priority with him. I live in a 3rd floor apartment, and my previous dogs (and upcoming puppy) have always been trained to use the "wee-wee pads" in addition to going outside. However, Darryl is already used to eliminating on grass, so I need to get one of those artificial grass "potty patch" things to put on my balcony for faster/closer access. Darryl's slightly oversized, at 11" tall, like a Mini, and the pet store potty patches are ridiculously too small (like 17x27") and so fake that he doesn't even bother taking a sniff. I've already tried & returned the ones that Petco & Petsmart carry (the PoochPad & Potty Patch), so now I need recommendations for buying one online (preferably from Amazon). Eventually, I hope to train him to use pads, but for now, I need recommendations on an affordable fake grass option... Thanks in advance for any feedback you can provide!
See what I got above. Two of them seems to be a decent size for the basset. Can't make fake grass smell like real grass unfortunately, and it is scented plastic (nylon whatever) as pee can smell horrendous. Puppies take patience and rewards to form a habit. They won't just always do something naturally.

Oh, I also put some Disposable pads in the tray and to bridge join the two trays. Will be less messy, at an extra cost. Will decide later if I can do without it.
