Can someone help me understand why to parties put up posters in the suburbs where they are going to win by a landslide anyway?

e.g. Round here its DA posters everywhere...yet its a mid class white suburb...why even bother?

Not every white middle class person votes for the DA.

Propaganda and visibility is very important for any party. If you go to Mafikeng then you hardly find a DA poster, the place is flooded with ANC posters.

Like any party the DA predicts where their growth will be and then focuses on those areas without neglecting where their original votes came from.

Never said they did.

Fair enough. But why not use the funds to campaign harder in borderline wards?

Saw one of those stupid ANC posters saying "step up for your hustle" the other day, the rain had damaged the oke in the pictures' face, looked like he had leprosy! Quite appropriate actually :D Vote ANC and step up for your hustle but look like a leper

Election posters and newspaper headline posters are two of the biggest contributors to mess and suburban degradation. I wish these idiotic people would just realise it. I no longer buy the local rag because of it.

DA posters are almost everywhere, however there has been extra effort this election to remove their posters.

There were 5 near our post office they have been ripped off the posts. I wonder who count have done it?

The DA pictures aren't as abundant in small towns as they are in cities. I could hardly see them in Mafikeng, Tzaneen or Gianni when I was there last week.

Man there are so many here, on the way out to the township too... could be they are still putting up posters? Actually from Pretoria every town you drive into has a poster where you drive in...

I also stay in Pretoria, we are flooded in blue on this side. However if you go north of the Caroseel you find less and less posters. It makes sense for the DA to not target Limpop heavily during this election and to focus on more relevant areas.

I also saw a lot of posters in Mpumalanga, I pretty much travel around all of the Northern provinces for work. Some areas have gotten no posters (like Vaalwater close to elisras).

The same reason Coke Cola still advertises
