I do not understand? So what do you want us to do? Vote sooner? Vote with more certainty? What?

The sooner the better I would think. But I am sure the ANC would like to delay it as long as possible.

But aren't we just mimicking what the US normally does with the interest rate.

No sir.... elections have nothing to do with higher interest rates.

Bad governance, government corruption, AA and BEE, bad employment laws, etc., all contributes to a collapsing economy, which causes prices to rise and increasing inflation. Higher interest rates are used to fight the higher inflation. The elections do bring fear to investors, because if the ANC wins the elections again, even more bad governance and corruption will continue. The economy will continue its collapse and prices will continue to rise even more.

Welcome to the latest African Failed State, South Africa.

retarded article posits that rand price volatility would give the reserve bank pause before they consider rate cuts

completely ignoring the fact that the South African reserve bank literally only has one measure that determines its actions: inflation targeting, the foreign exchange rate only comes into play very indirectly and won't make any difference in the short timeline discussed
