I saw a e dirt bike on DStv, and noticed it is chain driven. Was thinking why they do not install the motor in the wheel.

Long travel suspension and increased unsprung mass. Bigger hub also means less spoke length and in turn less flex.
Aside from that off-road bikes like these fit into the competition category for manufacturers.
Haven’t watched the video but guessing that’s an Alta Redshift which was trying to break into the racing market. Same with Stark. A heavy rear wheel would make them uncompetitive and prone to failures which means they would never break into the market.
Stark by most accounts is very competitive. We can rent them at most tracks around here. Sucks sharing space with them though, very fast and you don’t hear them coming up on you. Brown pants stuff. 😀
