Hello.I have a ET500 sliding gate motor that is problematic. The gate only works in manual mode.It gives 4 beeps when you click the button to open and nothing. If you click the button to open it then gives two beeps.
I want to check replace the fuses first but it mentions Conquer fuses only.Does the fuse brand actually matter?I cannot find Conquer fuses in the Cape Town.

Not sure about how many beeps but it sounds like it's running off the battery and not off AC power. If you open up the box look at the status lights on the panel and see which lights is on. A fuse is a fuse I can't see how a brand name will perform differently. There is also a spare fuse taped inside the box usually. You can also google the installer manual and reset the board and reinstall.

This link might help you a little. I can see there is a 12v battery and they do normally go bad after 3 years. consider replacing anyways.

If you have a multimeter you should be able to test the fuse with continuity mode and see if it is really blown or not.

The ET500 as far as I recall is a AC run motor with dc backup, you can even run it without battery.

It sounds like the motor is tripping on overload caused by strain from the gate.
Check the gate wheels and if the bearings are still OK.
Let us know

Thanks for the advice.I am going to get a new battery and start to troubleshoot from there, bearings will be next then fuses etc. Will let you know what happens.

Hi there.Just some feedback on the gate.I replaced the battery and bought a few fuses aswell.Put in the new battery and waited for 1 hour for it to charge and nothing.Replaced the one fuse and waited an hour and Bobs Your Uncle the gate worked. The board fuse was faulty.Added some Q20 on the rail and crank and itd working smoothly now. Thanks for everyone's tips

Glad you came right. Appreciate you providing the feedback.

Hi Folks

I have an issue with my ET gate motor. Randomly it does not open on AC Power and I have to run it off battery power in order to open and close the gate. Any ideas what this could be?

Sometimes the plugs come loose and have this issue. Sometimes a wiggle and clean helps a lot.i would also check all other power connections

Q20 on the rail? baaad idea, that mixes with dust, makes grinding paste, and the rest is bad news from there on out

Hey guys...My et gate 500/600 is saying motor fuse blown. Does anyone know how locate this fuse? I cant seem to open the top where I think it is. It doesnt look like it's meant to be open. I tried forcing it a little. And I dont know how to put the power off. I'm worried of being electrocuted

Send pics but the fuse is on the circuit board.

Can't get electrocuted since the power goes directly into a step down transformer.

There must be an ac wire from the motor to an AC point, follow the connection to the point and turn it off, alternatively, flip your trip switch and then do the fuse replacement.

See below

Ah wonderful! That diagram is what I needed. I'll try disconnecting the ac wire in the morning. Where is this trip switch located? I'll try and find it.
Thanks for taking the effort to reply and help guys.

The diagram is different to my system. Theres no fuse inside there. I'm attaching some pictures. And a wire came loose when I released one of the screws. I do not want to touch it..the end is not insulated. I disconnected the only wire I saw attached to the motor but the box still has power. The screen is still on. I don't see a trip switch either. I'm going to call someone to repair this.

Good call, especially if you don't know what you are doing and AC electricity is involved.

I called someone. All that needed to be done was to replace that yellow fuse in my 2 pictures. I had no idea it was a fuse. Well I learnt a lot. He showed me a lot of other things. Now I'll be able to diagnose problems myself.
Thanks for helping though!

I identified it as a fuse in 5 seconds, pity I didnt see this thread sooner.

That is how your car fuses look like, what did you have in mind m, the glass cylinder type?
