Electricity COC - Aircon Isolator Boxes

I want to get a COC for the house but the electrician told me that the air conditioners require isolator boxes. Is this so?

I'm aware the geyser requires an isolator box.

Pretty sure it is indeed so. Need to remove the risk that while someone is working on it, someone fiddles at the DB and powers it up.

They are both 12000 BTU air-cons that run using long wires to plugs in the garage, so they can be unplugged, but not at the unit.

Could well be the case, my 15,000btu units are on isolators.

Does it? So no need then for the isolators? Any electricians on the forum who can confirm?

Any fixed installation must have a way to turn it of in arms reach . 1meter . So you will have to install isolators .
