Electricity price increase incoming

Cape Town's electricity rates are the same for pre-paid and post-paid. There's no hassle to pre-paid either because customers can buy online.

I heard that some prepaid meters in general can be set to charge you a more expensive price depending on your suburb. This lady went to complain to her local municipality saying she is paying too much on electricity it was discovered upon opening the meter they set her meter on a higher rate.
Curious to know how they did that. I know you can mess with the counter in the meter by tampering with your AC wave.

No such thing as cheaper rate! It is a fixed rate if the vendor selling you electricity is charging you more they can get into trouble....

If you talking about third party meters example land lords and some gated communities have them installed on their premises - they get a kick back on every time a tenant/owner recharges.

It doesn't matter if it is more expensive! Instead of paying R450+ (NETWORK & SERVICE charge) that gets scrapped out on pre-paid and that money can be used to buy units.

Even when you take that into account. If your usage stays constant, you pay more on prepaid.

Maybe actually do your sums.
