Hi

Does anyone have experience with electricity sub metering?

I am basically looking for a keypad system where one can punch in a number to load units. I would like to manage the vending myself and not use some online service which charges a monthly fee.

The system doesn't have to do any other bookkeeping. A pre-printed list of vouchers per device is also a possibility.

I had a look at a system from acdc.co.za which works with a smartcard. The system is in chinese-english with a non user-friendly interface.

Hey

I have been using meters from http://www.prepaidmeters.co.za/ for a few years for student housing, its very user friendly, creates decent reports if you require and is a very simple process to generate token codes for them to enter. Meters are around R800 i think, which is very decent price imho. They charge R15 per meter per month, which is basicly to maintain the vending systems. You can completely manage the meter yourself so that you can collect cash or just issue token for whichever amount you want, or you can have it managed by them then they can buy tokens at garages and some shops, if you eventually get bored managing it yourself :) Would definitely recommend them.

Thanks for the info.

I had a look at their website before.

In my case I will be purchasing the electricity from Eskom. I then in turn want to sell it to the end user. Will it still be poosible for the users to buy tokens from SPAR etc? How would I then be refunded?
