Does anyone know where I can buy electronic temperature sensors?

I need one with a catheter diode and a fairly high range.

To be honest it is not actually for a computer.. it's for a hot stamping machine that has a heated plate.

Industrial suppliers ACDC, temperature controls, ect.

haha... ja, but actually finding a supplier is another matter. The two who were the most helpful both offered to manufacture it for us at an exorbitant cost.

We have searched the internet and the yellow pages to little avail.

I'm thinking that surely somewhere in South Africa there must somebody who has a digital or electronic temperature sensor unit which clips on or can be easily attached.

Are you just trying to calibrate/setup the machine? What about one of those thermocouple adapters that plug into a Fluke meter, would that do the trick?

You could try these dudes: http://za.rs-online.com/web/

No, it is for constant monitoring. It is to see that the hot plate is running at optimal temp... which is about 110 degrees C. But once that has been reached it can be removed.
