Anyone else saving up for spiffy elite armour? I've been saving up to buy the Fissure of Woe armour - necro armour, specifically. Damn, it's expensive, though - I have only about 285K saved up, and the armour (including materials) is about 600K.
 
Good luck :p I spend a good 100k on Exotic Assassin armor back when Factions was released... looked horrible tho >.<

I remember when FoW armour was going at about 1000k +, then Anet stuffed everything up with their loot scaling and inability to stop bots and solo farming and then introduced hard mode and the whole economy died. Such a pity, was a really good game once.

What's wrong with the economy? Seems to be OK to me. I just wish there was an in-game player-to-player trading post.

FoW armor used to be special like Crystaline Swords, the odds of seeing one in-game was rare. Then Anet cottoned on to the fact that if they turn a blind eye on bots and once every 6 months ban a few thousand of them so it is profitable for them to buy a new guildwars account and keep botting and keep constant sales of accounts going. Anets keeps profiting from a no-subs game.

There is so much gold available on the ebay at such a cheap price that you can buy FoW amour or a ultra rare item for like $10. Sup vigor runes where very expensive and most people just had majors. Now all my characters have sup vigors as they are so cheap.

GW was ruined by Anet. They have managed to only keep a few hundred thousand active players out of the 5mil accounts sold. If you go to Granite Citadel or Altum Ruins you will see that many of the 'active players' are just bots.

I'm still not sure what the problem is; I really enjoy the game.
 
Saved up for ancient white armour for my ele! was like 40k :D 40k for armour dye was all drops and so was the materials!!

Probably going to save up for NF end armour, I had it all planned out but forgot some of my materials and though to hell with I ain't gonna do Abbadon again for a while :D

I was looking at Elite Sunspear for my ranger but most ranger Armour looks abit lame so it's ancient for her too!

Yea, FoM builds, over priced trading idiots and money bots killed it abit... I would still play if MY ISP WAS NOT BLOCKING IT!! :mad:

900 hours worth I and I am still not even 40% done :)

Although I have a Freind Carlita, she's got about 6+ elite armour sets!

I love the Ranger Primeval armour (NF endgame); been wearing it for ages. Had the ancient too, and that was pretty nice.

Although I have a Freind Carlita, she's got about 6+ elite armour sets!

My wife has 29. She'd have more if she had more inventory space.

What are you doing to collect the money for your FoW armour?

I'm about to start saving for FoW armour for my assassin. I've found paying for Cathedral of Flames runs gives a decent return for time spent. The other thing I've started doing is farming in UW with a monk running a 55 build and me with my necromancer with the SS/SV build.

I've mainly just been collecting all money I get; no special farming.

However, my wife and I are about to start with some UW farming, me with my SS necro, and her with the 55 monk. We've been practising in hard mode outside the Sunspear Great Hall.

Every female player I've met in GW seems to have a thing about collecting different armour sets.

Funny that. I suspect there are a *lot* of female GW players...

Yea, im my guild all the female players have are mad over armour :p

Eish!? Good luck with UW faring.... I do tombs solo much easier, but less ecto's...

I find FoW to be much better since you can basicaly hero it most of the time.
 
I gave up on FoW armour after some angst. I decided that I wasn't really way keen on how parts of it looked, and decided to get something else, despite the FoW prestige.

So instead, I decided to get two elite sets of armour with the 510K I'd saved, and use all the remaining money for skill capping.

Here are the two suits of armour I got:
Elite Sunspear Armour. This armour is functional yet cool. I can just imagine Kate Beckinsale wearing armour like that.

Front and rear

Elite Dwarven armour. Yeah, the dwarves love all that lacy stuff. For sure.

Hehe. I'm in the process of buying my FoW armor. I've got the gloves already and about all the Shards I need. So far I'm on around 14 ectos and 22K gold. Still a long way off. I so totally regret wasting money last year on titles. I didn't know that my farming would be broken by the loot scaling unfortunately.

my guild leader collect vodka bottles and gummi bear in real life (the bottles she empties herself and she just loves gummies) in game she has 3 diff acc's and about every minipet there is
 
I want opinions on the best looking male elite armour... I'm gonna buy one, but most look pretty ugly from pictures i've seen. Could be bad quality though. The only reasonable ones are the prophecies ice one (cant remember the name) and the elite vabbian armour.
