Elitehost Poor Uptime

Hello,

I have a reseller account with Elitehost and the uptime is terrible! Sometimes all my sites are down for a few minutes, and the IMAP server loses connection pretty often. When I was with Hetzner this never happened.

The whole migration process from Hetzner to Elitehost was tiresome. Any other hosts with good reseller accounts that use cPanel so I can do an easy backup and transfer? Or should I move back to Hetzner?

Have about R300/pm to spend. Hosting about 20 sites (most are very low level traffic, besides 1 or 2), 10gb storage used.

I have been very happy with Hetzner, but moving back to Hetzner will be as cumbersome as they don't use cpanel. I guess you moved from Hetzner because they are double your budget.

I also have reseller hosting at Elitehost after having been with Hetzner previously - I moved because it is substantially cheaper.
The only pain in moving was the different password requirements on the email accounts which resulted in most of my clients having to change their email settings. I have been with Elitehost for nearly two years now and have had almost zero problems with downtime. And their support is top class.
So contrary to your experience, I am a very satisfied client.

Frikkadel.co.za offers great resellers packages at awesome prices. There is even have an API to give you access to their vast array of domains through WHMCS or Hostbill.

Their uptime has been perfect and when there were issues with ddos attacks or maintenance on their network they effectively communicated that to everyone

Really not sure what you running because I monitor my stuff per minute (I'm anal about uptime myself) and have had, to date, 99.92% uptime

Looks like elitehost are down again....sigh, will have to start investigating the alternatives

Just an update here: it appears the problem was related to the upstream provider(s).

These are the two posts from their Twitter page:

Wondering what's going on because this has happened more often in the past few weeks than the years I've been with them. It's still 100x better than their old upstream providers, but still. The last few times it was ddos attacks
