How TF can win7 not be supported? :wtf:

I wouldnt buy it, thats an indicator of alot more wrong with the unit.

Besides, surely you should just be able to access the content via usb or the network? What does the os matter?
Also doesn't support MKV.

I'm just looking for something that will record HD that can be easily copied ( not re-recorded ) to PC.

Well, that device only has a composite input so there is no chance of recording HD content with it.

If you're wanting to record HD content from dstv then you're in for a bit of a ride. The signal on the HDMI cable is encrypted and afaik there is no one device that can do this for you.

You can record unencrypted stuff with this card, like gameplay off your 360 or ps3, but all movies are encrypted.

Now it can be done, but its a real schlep, you need to get a specific pc card, get a specific chip that comes from a specific tv and solder it onto the card, then you need to get a cracked firmware and the thing will record the content.

I have a friend that attempted it, R5k later he cant get the thing to work properly.

I have heard that you can hack the Tivo HD PVR to get the recordings off, but since that device wont work with DSTV its kinda useless here.
