Hi Guys

How are these trolleys the 1200w? Quality wise.

Can b pick up for R4999, any better deals. Will run fish tank and maybe router on it

How long do batteries last?

Thanks

These units makes noise !

I'd rather suggest you buy a 1kw 12v system with a proper deep cycle lead acid (gel) battery . Will cost similar or maybe even cheaper.

Makes a noise while running, but apparently ( I was told with absolute certainty ) they do run deep cycle batteries, though of which kind, I'm not sure.

Runs my server(s), router, and wifi for 8 hours or so, never had it run out of battery though so not sure what it's time limit is.

Of course they are supplied with deep cycle batteries, mostly the sealed lead acid types.

Included in the packaging is a booklet which will have a estimated run times depending on the power ratings of the connected appliances, I am not very sure on the fish tank power rating but my diy system with a 600w UPS and two 100ah batteries connected in series for 24v gives me a run time of about 5hrs with my adsl modem, 200w hifi, dstv decoder and a 160w tv.

Its only noisy when running on battery or charging flat ones.

for what you running its over kill
Think you can put together something for alot cheaper 12V for about R3000 (1 battery)

I have a setup 1 battery 12V runs 2 decoders (PVR, HD) , a laptop router, 2 tvs a media player, and a few little things can get shy of 10 hours out of it (less things i'm sure i can push it)

Everything is 24v will it still work?

What size battery are you using? Also are you shutting down at 50% or do you have a gel battery? Cause I've got two 98a/h industrial batteries and I don't know if I could get more than 6 hours to 50%.

102Ah battery - not sure if Gel its an Energiser one - the Inverter Auto shuts down and i'm going to be honest not sure if it auto shuts at 50% really need to RTFM on that one :)

Is your set up series or Parallel?

Careful AlQassam.
Ellies is a Zionist company.

Connected in series to get 24v as my inverter is 24v. I've yet to stress test my setup to see when it shuts down. I got it from a friend who bought it last year for his setup, but he decided to go for a smaller pure sine wave inverter for his TV. He got about 7 hours out of it for his smaller TV.

ahh that makes sense , the toss up between 12v and 24v is the Amps on 24V will be less, and you have to have 2 batteries in series (unless can find a 24V) - and in series the AH remains the same but voltage goes up so yours although 2 batteries the AH remains 98

Reason i went 12V if I decide to add more batteries can connect in parallel and get a higher AH and if one of the batteries fails the system will still work (although lower AH) in series if one battery fails the whole system fails as it cant maintain voltage (and to get more AH need to get batteries in multiples of 2 for the voltage)

Have the Ellies 1200w inverter. Bought it about a year ago when loadshedding was bad. As mentioned above, it is only noisy when it is being used or recharging. It does quite well, it powers my PC +32'' screen + TV + DSTV + 2 lights + Modem for +-6 hours.

Yup it remains 98ah, but because of it being 24v there is also a benefit of the amps being less it should last longer than say a 12v system and a 98ah.

Yep it should since the Amps are less.
Also my batteries age might be a factor on why its currently doing well.

Also if it is a high cycle battery you shouldn't really be pushing it as hard. I know Geewiz sells the Engergizer high cycle not deep cycle batteries.

Think its high cycle.
Problem is i'm not at home when it kicks in (i have it set up to work like a UPS)and wife and kids not to savvy on it, best i can hope for is they unplug the stuff they not using

Shuts off at 10.5V (+/-) , and that's at least 70% discharge. Next time measure the voltages and you'll see :)
