ELSAT dish and duel LNB alignment problems with DStv dish

Hi All

I`m having problems aligning a ELSAT oval dish with a duel LNB. I have taken down a smaller dish with the duel LNB and put it on the bigger ELSAT dish. The dish is high up free of obstacles and i have used satfinder to align the dish. I have used the previous dish to align the dish to the horizon and the bigger ELSAT dish was already locked on 36 degrees. The satfinder screams and i have it spoton, but the strength meters on the software shows 0% ... also on booting up it jumps between searching for signal & aquiring NIT aquisition ... i have spend hours on the roof.

Questions :
Is the LNB compatable with the bigger ELSAT dish ... the dish is slightly oval in shape and not round like others.
Is it possible that a dish this big can have so much problems aligning up. .... its like it need to be precise exaclty ... but i feel this is getting redicilous .

I have aligned dishes in the past without problems. If the dish is already correctly aligned on 36 degrees vertically and it worked across the street like that , then it should simply be a matter of aligning it horizontally .... the whole thing is driving me mad ... i have no more ideas..

Hi there,
the LNB does not really depend on the Dish. There is not relation to compatibility like Computer parts for example. And Dishes come in many Shapes. I have a rectangle shaped Dish from a Swiss company that works quite well and there are butterfly shapes and many more. However you mention that the dish was already locked on 36 degrees.
A Wall must not always be perfectly vertical = 90deg.
And most of the satfinders have a modulator so I personally do not trust the gauge.
