Ahoy

Are there any good free or decently, locally priced applications that one could use to send newsletters?

I don't want to use an online server as I prefer an application interface. The program should preferably
manage the email database too.

Thanks!

Eish. If you don't know then hope dwindles! :D

Well, the problem is that most of the mass mailing applications are tied to known spammers and malware. I would not be surprised if they harvest your entire database for themselves.

Wouldn't that only be true of the online versions?

I wouldn't trust the offline ones as well. :(

Your only other option is to contact a local e-mail advertising company. But they charge the earth.

Why wouldn't you want to go hosted?

There are many good open source mailing scripts out there that will handle subscriptions, bounce backs etc...

I've used Pommo and quite liked it. www.pommo.org

Mail List King for Windows, my job (a school) uses it to send out newsletters and such. Works pretty well, although it was confusing for me as I had never used it before. Also intergrates with Outlook.

Got Pommo but need to install PHP admin to get it to work. Will try that this weekend.
