got this today:
Dear MWEB Member

Over the last few months we have noticed an increase in calls from our ADSL members to our technical support centres. In almost all of the cases we traced the problem back to a fault on the local Telkom exchange to which your ADSL line is connected. This is particularly true on smaller Telkom exchanges outside of big cities. You may have read in the press recently about Telkom's aggressive roll-out of ADSL services countrywide, and it may be that they are over-extending their resources in the process.

The Internet services that we provide to you (such as Web access, e-mail, and other online tools) on top of Telkom's broadband access service are adversely affected as a result, and we understand the frustration that this must be causing you. Consequently, we are engaging Telkom at the very highest levels of their organisation to ensure that they address these problems as a matter of urgency. They have given us their assurance that they will do so and we will continue to monitor the situation closely, and bring pressure to bear, until such time as we believe that the overall quality of service has reached an acceptable level.

Kind regards
MWEB Member Services

What is this person smoking? It sounds like it was written by Steven White.

Their rollout is about as aggressive as a glass of milk.

A glass of milk can be very scary sometimes :)

I asked them the same qn 3 months ago and said see-ya when they couldnt answer it.

The best they could come up with was "Our services and option plans are constantly in review to keep you as the member up to date with the current Market" - er - yeah - right.
