One of my clients has an issue in which her email access is being periodically blocked by the server's firewall. The error message says that there were multiple unsuccessful POP/IMAP logon attempts, and therefore the access from that IP address was blocked.
The service provider advises me to check the email settings, and if they are correct to delete and re-create the Outlook account. This has been done. (Windows 10 / Office 2013) Once I remove the block, the client is able, at least for a time, to send and receive emails, which indicates that the settings (username, password, server names and ports) are correct. I have also de-activated the Outlook setting for automatically logging in and downloading new emails. The block is being applied about once per day, at various times. The user utilizes POP settings. Her .pst file is about 5GB - could that be a factor?
Other users on the same domain do not have this problem. The issue has arisen at the office and now also at home, so it appears to be related to the specific user. The service provider has not been able to suggest a solution.
Any suggestions, please?

It might be a good idea to have a look at her cached credentials.

It sounds like old passwords are cached and used to connect resulting in the system to block her.
