I have a pc and a laptop. My laptop has a dualboot setup with vista and xp.My desktop has also a dualboot with vista ultimate and windows 7 64bit.Now i have 4 email programs with all 4 os systems. All my systems connects via my wireless router.I use mozilla thunderbird u3 edition on my stick to access email on these systems.I was wondering is this the best way for me to handle all my email on all 4 systems or is there a better way to organize this..

I get so frustrated when i have to copy a email address of the internet and paste it in my thunderbird. And with the touchpad its hell sometimes.Cause normally when you click a email address from the net it automatically takes you to the default email program of that OS and not the thunderbird.

So would it be possible to install 4 thunderbirds on all 4 os's and integrate or synchronize all folders to my u3 device portable thunderbird.

I know how to do this but is there a better option for such things that you came across.

Won't it be a more permanent solution to install your own mail server on a old box, and then simply connect to a centralized mailbox from each OS, using whichever client?

Why so many dual boots if you don't mind me asking? Could you not work with VMs?

Anyway.

On the laptop & desktop you coudl only use one profile on each machine between the different OSes. From the one OSes Thunderbird just point Thunderbird to use the profile on the one partition. This will cut your profiles down from 4 to 2.

Do you use Gmail? Maybe look into it and always leave a copy on the server while you download with your client. This means you will always have a backup even if you loose both your machines. Gmail will also pull in your mail from other pop accounts so you have one central mailbox.

I'm not sure about syncronising across multiple PCs & multiple Profiles.

Good idea if he has a spare box he could dedicate as a server. Sure the Desktop would suffice.
