Yesterday I was asked to go to a company and check out their email settings, as they were getting some errors when sending.
Now, it's very basic. They use iBurst as an ISP, and have an iBurst mail account, they can send mail fine with this one, but for some reason, they aren't able to receive mail on it. It's probably something on iBursts side. But that is not my main concern.
They also have a different mail account, also set up on the users PC which uses the iBurst mail, though this one has their company name in for example *blah at skunkcycles.co.za* Now, they can receive mails on this account, but they can't send out any emails on it. It uses smtp.saix.net for their SMTP server, and when you try to send, it gives the following error:
I checked the recommended settings for their account, and it said that the SMTP port must be set to 80, which I then did, and then I received a different error:
I've googled it, but have found no solution. Though I think that smtp.saix.net is not relaying the emails because they are on the iBurst inet. Though this is just a theory atm.
Anny suggestions?
