Hi guys,

Why don`t u all start emailing telkom about there **** service.

This is a email i wrote.

I have never in my life thought that a company as outsized as telkom would have such appalling service and inexperienced staff!

I've ordered a ADSL line beginning of August 2005 The lady at the counter promised they would come to my house to install and set up my ADSL connection, within 4 weeks at the most!!!

6 weeks later I phoned them, and they told me to wait another 4 weeks, after telling the incompetent employee that it is unacceptable, I was told to go to a telkom branch and pick up the router and do a self instillation!

Deciding to take matters in my own hands to fix my dilemma, I did just that..

3 months later and after taking back the Router 3 times!!!
I'm still not getting what I'm paying for!
after at least 10 telkom employees promised me they would send someone out to my house, still I haven't seen any telkom guy near my house, never mind the street I live in!

But if for heavens sake you dare pay your account a day late they wont hesitate to give you a call!

I'm really fed up!!!

so to anyone out there who asked me about the ADSL line I bragged about 3 month back, I'm telling them never ever to even think of getting anything from telkom, rather go to a company with real people, who'll actually try to live up to a reputation,

the biggest joke of it all is that I should have known that telkom has never had a great reputation!

My telkom account for this month is the lowest it has ever been, and guess what? 90% of all my calls I've been charged for is to the following number 012 680 6243 who would have guessed? It ACTUALLY belong to TELKOM, the number they give you to phone when trying to fix your problem!!!!!
Still getting nowhere, yet still paying for their shortcomings!

Why should this even be your problem! It should be Telkom's problem, don't you think!???
Then they have the nerve to tell the world:
They are: A leading communications company with a heart for their people.
Telkom's claimed Values:
We are proud and passionate about who we are and what we do. We will act with honesty and integrity. We will promote an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit. We will treasure diversity. We will not sacrifice or give up on any of our values.

Complaining to them just doesnt help. I have previously sent 7 online complaints and 3 emails regarding a pending ADSL order. To this date they havent contacted me. That was abour 4 months ago.

At one stage i phoned them and asked them why the hell they dont reply. The lady said, "Oh, im sorry. Ill find out for you." Still nothing hapened.

So basically your wasting your cap sending mails to them. And maybe thats exactly what they want you to do.

a) They don't read half the emails (if even)
b) They couldn't care less

All well and good to share your thoughts and experiences regarding telkom here, however the correct approach to dealing with problems with telkom as i recently found out is as follows:

1. Be agressive - be it with the helpdesk chap who details your problem.
2. Ask for your support ticket number, and the name of the person you're speaking to.
3. Ask the name of the supervisor on duty.
4. Ask the helpdesk attendant to read out what he just wrote - many times the problem is what is being reported to engineers.

You will hear back from them, trust me.
