Hi Guys,

Im taking a girl out this weekend for some fun in the sun. We will be doing some activities during the morning, after which I thought a picnic will be a nice idea to calm down.

I have not been to Emerentia dam in probably 2 decades. Interested to know if it is still a nice place to relax and have a picnic? Are there specific entrances or spots which are nicer than the others? Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Last time I was there it was quite nice.

Just make sure you aren't caught having your "fun in the sun"...

It's still a nice spot. The back part (furtherest away from the dam) is the dog friendly area, so there might be a random poo or two lying around, so rather set up under some trees on the stretch in front of the dam.

Go there daily with my dog, if you don't like dogs stick to the lower dam but yes it's perfectly safe and actually quite beautiful

Plastic sheets stop the blood.

Try Picnic closer to the rose gardens but not too close because of all the wedding pics people will be taking.

Prefer Walter Sisulu botanical gardens for a picnic as it's more scenic, but Emmerentia is ok too...
