Empty Data Bundle Problem

Last week I used up the few remaining MB on my 350MB data bundle. Now the bundle lasts a month before I can buy another one, and I am now forced to use the exorbitant 'out-of-bundle' rates, @ R2/MB. I thought buying a new SIM card and R30 air-time would be sufficient for me to connect at the o.o.b. rate, purchase enough airtime for a data bundle, then purchase the bundle.

MTN gave my a finger. I can still only connect on my normal number at the o.o.b. rates. I'm using a Nokia N70 on Vista Business, and have only had minimal problems before this. Is there some setup or activation step I have missed? I don't recall having to do anything special the first time around.
 
disconnect the modem for a few minutes then plug it in.
Give the sim card another few minutes to do its thing.
if u still cant connect then reinstall the software again.
That normally worked for me.
 
@ProfK: I'm not clear at which step in the process you received the finger.
Are you unable to connect on the new number? You might need to activate WAP first, send *123# and request MMS & WAP settings.
 
Is there any way I can check to see when a used data bundle will clear? I loaded a bundle and used it. The end of the month has rolled by but still not able to load a new bundle. I can only assume it will clear when i get to the date I loaded the old bundle. :confused:
