Important Announcement about Google Calendar Sync
Almost two years ago, we announced that we had ended support for Google Calendar Sync. Starting on 1 August 2014, this app will no longer sync events between your Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook Calendar.

You can continue to access all of your Google Calendar events at calendar.google.com or on your mobile devices. Follow these instructions to uninstall Google Calendar Sync from your computer.

Are there any replacements one can recommend.

you want to keep on using Google Calendar? Or willing to change to another calendar platform where you can sync your calendars between devices and people?

With this move, Google clearly indicates that they are not in the friends making business. I feel almost as disappointed as when they killed desktop search!

As for me, either. Whatever works. Calendar sync worked brilliantly if you have an Android phone and are forced to use Outlook at work.

Basically the same with me. I have to use Outlook, but use my phone calendar (google) when not at my computer and this has been working perfectly for me.

****ty move by Google. Although I ditched outlook about 2 years ago. Using Gmail services exclusively. Still haven't forgiven them for shuttering Google Reader. Feedly and all the others are just not the same

For example? And at the same gratis price point?

I have been trying out gSyncit . Its free, although has a 15 sec nag screen every time you open outlook. So far hasnt really bothered me. It has been working great. I will probably end up getting the commercial version. So if you can live with a 15 sec nag screen when you start up outlook, this is a good free option in my opinion.

Decided to switch to outlook.com at least they make it easy and its free.

Create a account on outlook.com
Install the Outlook Hotmail Connector 32-bit from http://www.microsoft.com/en-za/download/details.aspx?id=24677.
Install Outlook.com app on your phone.
Open outlook and connect to your outlook.com account.
Move your calendar events to your outlook.com email and use the new calendar in outlook. Every time you sent and receive the calendar syncs.

Google Calendar Sync Replacement

Now that the Google Calendar Sync has stopped working I found a replacement Outlook4Gmail. Although it isn’t free it works great, actually better than Google's own product did.
