I've been using IPCop with iBurst for 2 months now, it works very well... but I love playing with these things, so I installed Endian Firewall and for some reason I just can't get it to connect via PPPOE to iBurst, anyone got it working with endian?

I set MTU to 1399, is this correct, thanks.

i am not expert in this but should it be set to 1492 for pppoe ?

Thanks, I've tried 1352, 1392, 1399 and 1492 but its just not connecting.
Perhaps I'm missing something? Anyone got iBurst working with endian.

I chose PPPOE, put in my username and password, but it just does not connect, I can't understand why...

Hi Dgcarter

Which authentication type are you setting the connection to?

Are you selecting the RED check against your NIC?

Maybe you can supply a screen shot of the network setup wizard.

Cheers

Can't give a screenshot because I moved back to IPCop.

I had selected PAP or CHAP authentication, and the NIC's were set up correctly, even saw the light on the UTD blink when I clicked "Connect" but it just wouldent work.

So, heres the break down... I tried IPCop, works perfectly... I tried Smoothwall, drops the connection after 2 min... I tried Endian, doen not connect at all.

Hmmm, am I missing something?

If you're using an iBurst Desktop modem try replacing the cable between your modem and "red" nic with a crossover cable.

ok I am having an issue with ipcop now. it will not connect at all for some weird reason. checked everything red interface is connected correctly and green it is assigning ip addresses to machines and everything but it will not connect at all router is in bridge mode tested by doing a dial up connection from windows and it connects fine but the red interface in ipcop will not connect and red interface cable is running from nic to router and have selected pppoe in ipcop and entered details. any ideas as this is frustrating now
