Engine change in vehicle

Your friend has a problem, a big one, unless he can get hold of the owner there is no way he can legally register the car in his name.

3 check change of ownership was actually done. You do need the original car papers(in your name) to do the above. If financed then you'll have to ask the bank for it.

Hi i recently bought a vehicle and the previous owner only informed me afterwards that they changed the engine. He has no receipt/proof of purchase only a slip with ID number and name of person he bought engine from including the engine nr. Please assist in advising me on how i go about registering the car in my name? He gave me the registration papers and told me to go get a police clearance..Thnx in advance
 
Has anyone done this process recently ? Anything changed since the original post.
 
Hi everyone, I've recently bought a engine for my VW Mk 1, the guy gave me a invoice with the engine number on, his business number and total amount for engine. Would i be able to get the engine through engine clearance, data dotting and everything without any other papers?
 
I recently bought a car but the enegen gave me pblms so I had to change it but i lost the receipt and can't get hold of the guy that I bought it from....what step should I take??
 
Hi I bought a vehicle that's license is 4 years behind
I want to put the vehicle on my name and get everything done
But now I went to have a proper look at the vehicle and found out the engine number isn't the same as on the papers.... Someone please advise on how to go forth
 
This is reviving an old thread but does anyone know if I download the notice of change form from the natis website and what it is called?

I am referring to the form I need to take to get police clearance on a new engine?

It's called RPC - Request for Police clearance. There will be an option for engine clearance. You will need to submit this form first at your RA than go to police clearance.
