i need assistance where i can get a cheap machanic for my car ix35. i was told that my top gasket blown up and the is water on the oil samp. they quoted me at 45000 so please people i need assistance

Keep in mind it may not be a simple gasket replacement - your block may have cracked due to high temperatures (from the evidence of water in the oil), and as such, it WILL be more expensive to repair.

Shop around at scrapyards for a good 2nd hand engine - take a mechanic friend with to check the oil etc of that engine prior to purchase. (YMMV).

the other thing they said was metals on the oil samp, today these mobile mechanics view the car and we couldnt see the metals only signs of water. on wednesday they will be taking the block away for further check up

second hand engines are so expensive in cape town, i have checked with mikes place so so expensive they cost around 35000
