Unless your engine number changed and you need a new license disc, it wasn't replaced. They would have replaced the head if needed and just re-sleeved the cylinder, added a new piston with rings.

Yeah not a replacement. Still expensive for just cylinder head.

Could have had a Lexus V8 for R19500 ...

Labour is renew and dress shortblock which is imagine is a PC term for overhaul.
The first item clearly says cylinder assembly. Where are you looking?

The first item "cylinder assembly" (FCM5G6011BA) is not a cylinder head, it is a short block.
I've checked with the Parts Dept at the local Ford dealership.

Ok so they're replacing the block only and not the cylinder head.
Still not a "new" engine.
