Hi everyone
Can someone please assist me. I am looking for a place where I can take my car for an engine clean in the Cape Town area (Preferably in the Northern Suburbs but if the place is good I am willing to travel)

Thanks in advance.

How dirty or filthy is the engine?
I have cleaned my engines myself using prepsol with a brush and it works wonder.

I am very finicky with people working on my engine and especially water as the worst thing is that after the wash, the car does not want to start.

It is quite dirty.
That is why I am looking for a reputable place that uses steam not water. I have an oil leak (oil/engine sweat they say) that I want to fix but to see the source the engine needs to be clean.

If you do not have access to steam, use "Power Paraffin". It is an awesome solvent.

You're asking for trouble if you want to steam clean your engine...

Buy engine cleaner, throw it all over your engine and let it sit for a while. Use a hosepipe and rinse the engine afterwards.

Steam cleaning... you drunk bru?

I've washed my engine with a hose so many times, no issues so far. Here are my tips, cover the electronics if you are so concerned, warm the engine, no drives just let it idle, it must not be hot just warm. Spray the engine cleaner and let it sit in for a couple minutes, rinse of with a hose, avoiding the electronics. Spray an anti moisture spray on all the wiring plugs and you are done, a car was designed to operate in all weather conditions, within reason, if it refuses to start after an engine wash then that car already had issues that were going to come up sooner or later.

Anyone in Cape Town willing to borrow me a pressure washer to use tomorrow and return Sunday? :)

Presure wash can force water in where it not supposed to be , rather use a hose , and make sure have a can of q20 available if spark plugs wet

Get yourself one of these or use any hose with a nozzle. Remember it is not about the pressure of the water but rather the engine cleaner detergent. You will just be rinsing off with water.
