I like it already, have been saying it should be done for ages. I don't really care much for normal sports, but this will be far more exciting. People truly testing the limits of the human body.

Personally I don't think it is as dangerous are some people make it out to be. Because sports are about performance, just taking a lot of stuff is not going to give you the edge generally. You have to pay far more attention to balance, unlike bodybuilding, if you can even consider it a sport.

Bodybuilding isn't simply taking steroids and working out. There aren't shortcuts. No, I don't do bodybuilding. I don't like the look. I do recreational powerlifting, but alas, I am also no longer 28 years old.

What is the point though.

Sports are just a genetic beauty pageant already, by allowing these things it will just push everyone as close to destroying themselves as they can.

It is hard to say how dangerous it will be. I guess it depends on the prize money and rewards and fame it generates. Plenty of athletes dope but they have to try keep it under the radar. They also have to try keep the amounts in certain times or ranges.
To say that just taking stuff wont give you an edge isnt right, EPO roughly gives a performance increase by 4 to 10% in elite athletes. That is an exceptionally high amount, when you consider results.
As an example, the difference between the winner of the tour de france and 135th place was just 5 hours 40 minutes over an 80 hour race. That means if no one else took EPO and last place did, based on EPO performance he might have won. That is not just an edge, it is leaping from last to first place.

With enough money at stake and enough fame and prestige, athletes might be tempted to push themselves very far. I would guess there would be a load of deaths and long term repercussions before they figure out what the diminished returns are. You can only take so much stuff before it stops having benefits and becomes very dangerous.

Bodybuilding is an example of what I am saying above. Because there are portions of it that arent regulated for testing, guys have had decades to figure out what the sweet spots are. And even then, it is different for everyone, guys are literally dying because of the sport. Enhancement is a factor for bodybuilding, but it is no different to any other sport, if you dont do everything else right, you wont get there.
I think you are doing an injustice to it by saying you dont have to pay attention to balance, the entire sport is based on size, symmetry and aesthetics. Taking too much of something, working too much on one part, not paying attention to every single detail of every part, means you can lose.
