Enquiry Regarding Mobo & M.2 SSD Heatsinks

Good day,

I am planning a new high end gaming build and two questions have surfaced with regards to the selection of solid state drives.

When comparing the performance of the different models and brands, is there any real world differences between them that is noticeable? For example, Samsung have their evo, pro, plus models etc, each with a few hundred megabyte differences in speed. Also does the price justify the difference in performance stated on paper?

Secondly, in the example images, I've included a motherboard and an SSD. The board has M.2 heat sinks covering the slots and the SSDs themselves have their own ones too. Would they fit properly with both sinks or would one need to removed?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

No and no. You'll only notice a difference in niche applications, for normal desktop/gaming use you will not notice anything. The speeds on paper don't really translate to real-world performance.

I would rather go for a good size samsung than looking for the fastests under the sun.

Went from 850 pro to 970 evo. Don't notice a difference.

I find that SATA transfer speeds are not always consistent and so I would like to avoid SATA especially for my SSDs. HDDs unfortunately, there's no avoiding that

It doesn't really matter. SSD heatsinks are largely a gimmick and can even have a negative effect. So unless the manufacturer included one don't use it. Unless you like the look but you can decide after purchase what looks best if it fits.
