Hi All,

My brother is busy building at his house. The new T.V. room / lounge is my little project.
The room is about 5 X 5 . I have installed 2 X 50mm pipes in the center of the wall where the LCD will be. Bottom has a 45 angle in, then a t behind the LCD and another 45 emerging in the ceiling. Yeah I know I'm over compensating :D , but making sure that there is enough piping available.

His current LG DVD/surround sound unit is a bit flaky when playing DVD's.
Does anyone have any good advice for a entry level receiver. we will probably use the speakers from the LG. We will get a "cheap" DVD player as they generally break as soon as the warranty expires.

requirements will be as follows.
5.1 surround sound.
hdmi output.
2 or more hdmi inputs
2 or more av and composite inputs

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Not sure how well a proper receiver will power speakers from an all-in-one. Would say that there is either a good chance they will get blown or will sound incredibly distorted. Unless you have a top-of-the-range LG system that has massive speakers.

I actually will be doing a similar thing..

I have the component LG system (AR702 I think it is)... as a temporary measure the NR1501 will drive them until I can get decent speakers like Monitor Audio or something of that nature.
