EPG for Dreambox

Was looking around for a while for a good EPG for the Dreambox. Came across EPG Evolution (http://epg.evolution.project-x.us/) which looked great but the author has closed down the EPG server.

I've now started up my own EPG server for Evolution which offers a 7 day schedule for all the DSTV channels.

Let me know if your interested in using/testing it - I've fixed a few bugs in the past few days so it should hopefully all be working now.

I see this has been posted long back - Do you still have the epg?
 
Enigma2 - use XMLTV Import or Cross EPG on Gemini and Newnigma as plug-ins.


see Rytec.be also works and has files for Enigma1
 
Hey peeps

Looking at getting a DM8000/800 or a Vu+ Duo (apparently these are just as good as the DM8000 but half the price??).

Is there a way to get the full 7 day EPG working properly? Does CrossEPG work?

@gregmcc - do you have your EPG server running still? :)

Best image is Newnigma 3.2.2 and it has a plugin called XMLTV EPG import. Works 14 days 100% Daily updates via internet. Just dont mess with clone carp. DMM I refer to.

@ Vu+ Duo - It's easy to follow but dificult to lead and innovate.

btw - "they" have taken out the fan and the brown stuff is about to hit.

Thanks so much mate! Appreciate the advice :) So you reckon I got Dreambox rather that Vu+ Duo? Everywhere I read seems to punt the Vu+ rather as it is half the price of the DM8000 with the same specs apparently?

Would XLMTV EPG work on the VU+ too? Apparently the VU+ can also run Enigma?

Btw here is my story:

I have a SD Dual View DSTV and wouldn't be looking for HD capabilities, but wanted to buy a HD Dreambox in case I ever did? Reckon it's worth it or not? Is there another box you could recommend rather? Apparently you have to have a HD PVR from DSTV so that the smart card can be activated before it works in the HD Dreambox, so that's another cost on top of the HUGE price of the boxes.

When you say "they", who do you mean? VU?

I would like to know how I can try out your EPG server for evolution and try it on the reambox, please forward me your link.
