Hi,

I'm considering buying a Epson L365 and a L655. Can users of these printers, comment on their reliability and quality.

I would also like to know for how long you have been using the printer.

Thanks.

Using a l565 at the office for 9 months, ink lasts forever and we have only replaced the black ink once. Colour ink is still more than half.

Have a l550 at home which doesn't get used too often. I had to do some head cleaning as the blue was not printing. Works fine after that.

I think they also have a cashback promo running currently

What did the head cleaning involve, easy, DIY, cost? One of the things I read about these ink tank printers is the heads clogging up and that you must basically chuck away the printer then because you can't replace the heads.

was one the utilities on the printer settings, so no cost, just time and paper wasting

And I presume it works fine again afterwards? Also want to get one of these for our small office.

working fine again, I think main problem is that it doesnt get used often so the ink will dry up
The one we use in the office everyday hasnt had that problem

I saw the Epson advert in yesterday's Sunday Times. See https://www.epson.co.za/en/viewcon/corporatesite/cms/index/12265/ for discounts.

Best prices that I found are at https://www.pclinkshop.co.za

Our cartridges for the office HP laser printer cost well over R1000 for each colour. The cost to replace all 4 colours is almost the same as the price of a L565, which includes the ink.

With a 3 year warranty and ink that lasts longer, sounds good for at least 3 years.

Considering the L365 for home, which will not be used often. As I cannot wait for half an hour for a head to be cleaned when I have an urgent document to print, I think I'll stick with the non-HP ink cartridges at home for now.

I have an Epson L565.

The printer prints very well, and the ink lasts LONG. BUT - it scans slower than a dead rat being dragged by a brick in the North Pole. Especially multiple pages its like they tried to build the worlds slowest scanner.

Also the scanner after 4 months is now making a faint line on my images - even with the glass and rollers cleaned thoroughly.

All in all, its an OK printer but when i have a chance to go back to HP or Canon i'm outta here with it.

Be very wary of HP, in the US there are issues where HP pushed a firmware update which stops the printer using generic cartriges.
My HP is using generics currently....not going to check software update though.

Am I correct in saying the L565 is the cheapest option with both wifi and Ethernet connectivity?
How is this printers wifi printing performance if directly printing from a Mac or iPhone?

L355, used for 18 months so far...no issues at all. Spending more on paper than ink:)

I've purchased 3 x L365s for the office sofar over past year+ odd, and few months ago got one for home personal use for kid's school projects... no issues yet, long lasting ink via the ink bottles vs cartridges the big benefit.
I've lost all faith in HP printers a few years ago, and recently saw a promo deal and got one again, figuring they've sorted the reliability out... regrets

true the scanning speed on the Epson sucks.... we using old HP Officejetpro that stopped printing for home scanning with feeder, but still scans well.
