Hey look, Jimmy's back.

What is a house ******? Is it like a ****** boetie in reverse?

Now I ask you with tears in my eyes, how does this man, who is president of the 'BLACK' management forum and the Chairperson of the Commission for Employment Equity (CEE), which by the way is literally PITCH BLACK in makeup with the exception of an indian woman, shout from an authoritative position about employment equity?

I normally hear of this term in US. I stand to be corrected but its a term used to describe a black slave that serves white people. Some have called "Condoleezza Rice" as house *****.

In RAP and Hip-Hop, it means something slightly different though!

The k word is not acceptable guys. Please be very careful!

Neither is the n word.

Yeah, now Jimmy thinks he is an American Negro.

The poor guy has got an identity crisis.

my 2c worth....
I can understand that the K and N-words may be taboo, to prevent people taking offence, but I doubt if Sneeky in his original (before changes) thread meant any offence.
Should we not allow  some traditionally 'taboo' words if clearly no offence is meant, we all grown ups (mostly :) ) here...
I've been called a K*-boetie before and its still fine by me.
Hopefully folks have grown up enough to realise when a 'swearword' is not meant as a swearword? Surely even if you type "f* you" with the stars everybody still knows what u mean, even if the words arent there, so y not leave it as is?
By all means, if folks are offended, then bring back the stars :D
If I now try & read the posts in this thread, now with all the star treatment, I find it **** hard to ***** understand what **** means :D
But I realise it can also get out of hand.... wudn't want the site to degenerate into a sailor's tavern :p
just a thought

edit... ag thinking about it, I suppose we can keep the censorship as is... I really don't want to offend anyone.
Was just my brainf@rt so early in the morning,... guess I just got miffed when I got to Rwenzori's post of "I always thought a ******* was a ******** who ******!" and me too dof to understand what's said :)

I knew that I was on the tightrope with that one but the question/context was legit.
If it's ok for Jimmy and the print media then it should be ok for me.
No matter, I apolgise and would prefer to see none of that anywhere.

Jimmy Manyi is still an idiot though and it amazes me that he holds any position of authority whatsoever. BEE backfire.
:)

He's actually not that much of an idiot. I heard him speak for the first time on "***us" this week, and i thought he was really composed and presented his case well.

Edit: Anything wrong with the word F0kus?

Neither is the n word.

True, unless it is in a media headline. The same with the k word. Or if it is a historical look at the word published in LANGUAGE magazine or something. :D
