Hello everyone,

How long can one use iBurst once over the cap? Can I just download to my hearts content, or will I get blocked at a certain point?

make sure you don't have pay-per-use, or you don't WANT to download to your hearts content once capped.
If you're softcapped though, go wild, there's no rule that says you can't... it's not like you can really download THAT much anyway at the speed you get when capped =P

Do iBurst put you on pay-as-you-use without your premission? I am month-to-month ATM (dont want to sign another contract) as have been for over a year now. I am on the 3gig that became the 3.5gig that is now the 5gig cap.
 
yes, when filling out the form there's a little tick that you have to tick to say you don't want to be charged per MB after your cap.

Don't know the limit though, but I'm on a 1GB cap and went quite a bit over last month with no naste after effects :)

you on PPU. You won't get 5gig cap if you on softcap option.

They did not have "pay-as-you-use" when I signed up over 3 years ago ... so there will be no problem with the contract ... I hope!! :)
 
good luck trying to get more than you bargain with iburst still stopping downloads after 2 min into softcap :(
 
Well, I'm on the 500mb package and I've done 1773.43 megs this month, and I have my contract in front of me now and I did opt out of PPU... so yea, I am going at dial-up speed, but I'm not complaining, uTorrent and GetRight download just fine, d/l about 80 megs in 4 hours, not bad for dial-up speed :P

iBurst softcap is 64kbps while dialup is 53kbps (not even 56kbps) at best.
If you have any line noise - it connects at 50kbps. iBurst softcapped is more
single ISDN speed - 64k.
