I posted this on MyG too but since gamers aren't the only target market of the game, thought it may be applicable here as well. I know a thread already exists for this but this is a recruitment post with a bit more info on the game.

The Game

eRepublik is a text based browser massively multiplayer online game with strategy and social networking elements. The game is set in a virtual world where players must find work, train their military skills, become a politican and fight for their country in large scale wars. The game can be played for a few minutes a day or for a few hours depending on how active one wants to be within his or her nation. The features within the game are currently rather limited however new economy, war and social elements are constantly being implemented. The social element of the game therefore plays a huge role and many players spend a lot of time on IRC and country forums discussing interesting aspects of the game, be it thread killing material, war, economics, elections or what's in the media.

eSouth Africa

eSouth Africa, the virtual country within the game, has a long history of oppression and liberation struggles against our neighbouring countries, Argentina, Brazil and Indonesia. We hold valuable resources within the game, diamonds - soon to be titanium, which is extremely scarce and is often the focus and cause of war in the southern hemisphere.

We are currently fighting a huge war ("The Great Southern War") against Brazil and Argentina and are in the process or battling over Limpopo, Gauteng, Free State, KwaZulu Natal and Mpumalanga - our occupied regions. We are also facing a political take over from our enemies who are trying to win a majority of seats in congress so that they can control our country, take over the presidency and force our citizens in exile for an indefinite period of time.

This is a cry for help and a plea to South African gamers to join this virtual world and help eSouth Africa fight for freedom!

If you have any questions about the game or need help getting started, don't hesitate to give me a shout here on the forum or in-game at http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/1388525

I'm sure many of the MyBB folks who are also playing would be willing to help as well.

ok, i've joined, same name as mybb name...

Welcome to our eWorld :) I see you were born quite a while ago in occupied Gauteng.

I've sent you a moving ticket to move to Northern Cape, South Africa - our fortress region. I'd recommend signing up on the eSouth Africa national forum and applying for a mentor, joining the military, etc - it's where everything happens. You should also contact our eSouth Africa Health Center who helps citizens in need of wellness and teaches you how to stay at 100 wellness.

We've been fighting out little hearts out against the brazilian goat*****ers. We need your help

ATM we're like the Spartans. 300(ish) of us against thousands of Brazilians and Argentinians. We're holding our own but things are getting stretched thin.

South Africans also a bit of laughing stock in the game. Because there are so few of us. We make do with recruiting people from other countries, like the US, Poland, Australia.. Heck even the odd Bosnian.
So guys, come help us out. Just wrong that other countries have to help us because the locals dont give a fsck

i joined a while back. think ill give it a go again.

I need a moving ticket cause im currently in western cape under Indonesian citizenship.

it still says "Indonesia" under the citizenship tab. i clicked on change and it wants to apply for citizenship. so i guess thats what i have to do

Yes, just apply for eSA citizenship.
They changed it now so that new players that start in occupied areas get the citizenship of the original country and not the occupiers'

I tried to join a while back, but for some reason, although I'm sure I selected South Africa, I ended up in Poland. Never logged in again after that.

Your first step would be to find a job, perhaps join a party once you have enough experience points, join our military and fight for your country.

You'll find a wealth of info on the eSA national forum at http://www.erepubliksa.com

Send me an IG message if you need help with anything.

Thanks and thanks. Is there no way to peacefully resolve matters?
