Good day all

For your consideration:

I've seen quite a few posts here about eRepublik, but I'd just like to clarify for those who haven't heard of it. eRepublik is a massive multiplayer online web browser game that allows you to play your role as a businessman, soldier or politician in your country of choice. I am part of the eSouth African community. We've been around since November 2007, but things have drastically changed over the last few years.

A group mainly consisting of Turkish players has taken eSouth Africa along with its economy and governance. The Turks have done this mainly through cheating and intimidation - which included racial slurs. The consequence of this is that many South Africans have left the country or even the game altogether. We've tried our best to retake the country, but our numbers are too few to make a difference. The hope that we may play the game as South Africans again is fading away.

The only hope we have left is to bolster our numbers and that's why I'm posting this message here. We'd like you all to join our ranks and kick the intruders out of our country. Moreover, we'd like you to explore the possibility of playing the game on a permanent basis. On the surface, eRepublik aesthetically looks like a Facebook game, but if you go deeper it has dynamic political intrigue, an intricate economy module, epic player-driven battles and wars and a whole bunch of people waiting to be come acquainted with you. Over 5 years of history has been written by its players - no NPCs or external influence.

One of our best players, who is also a real life South African, once said the following:
eRepublik isn't a game of every man for himself, but of everyone working together for the benefit of all - be an active member of your community!

If you're interested in joining please sign up. We have a forum and various military and political groups you can join.

So basically RSA is ****ed in virtual reality as well? Are the Turks at least doing a good job of running it?

I would not explicitly say that. I would say that we're very unrepresented. A lot of South Africans don't know how fun it can be to be part of an online community and that's a shame because the South Africans you encounter in browser games are generally well-mannered and well-educated. The Turks technically don't "run" the country. It is virtually stagnant. They siphon tax payer money out of the country and use it for their mercenary ventures. Most of them are referred to as VISA players. They squandered thousands of real life currency into the game to be able to cyber bully without real consequence. They have enough power to intimidate virtually any of our neighbour countries.

I see. And must you join the country your from in real life or can I join anybody?...like say I want to join the winning Turks team..as an example of course.
