Ok I'm now inlove with the Mazda3 and also saw a car over the weekend I have been wanting all my life - Nissan Sani :o

Now my problem is this:

I can buy the Sani cash for around R 50k and then sort out what ever needs attention. Or buy the Mazda on finance. What would you do?

Finance on a Car at around R 140k or buy the Sani cash?

Milleage and age on the Sani?
Also dunno how Nissan's customer support is nowdays but Mazda have really got their act together.

If you really a car fan, get what you want - ie the Mazda ;)

You really want an old Nissan Hardbody with an inverted jacuzzi tub glued to the bed? Nah, dude... don't do it. There are much cheaper ways to get rain-soaked while en route to your holiday destination..

Well the Sani is a 1998 model so I won't be buying it for the support they give :p

I would love the Mazda, but since I saw the Sani, I'm in 2 minds now. I can;t decide which one to take. The Mazda would be maintenance free I assume as it's pretty new. However the Sani I would have no installments but it would have somethings I assume that needs ironing out.

Arn't Sani's a fortune in fuel?

Yea, but so too is my Clubcab. Fuel aint really the issue. But those things are epic. The space they have is amazing.

The biggest factor for me is if it will be worth my while to buy the Sani with it's little faults or to buy a fault free Mazda for almost 3x the price.

I love the look and the space. I have to admit I have never driven one maybe I should take it for a spin first :)

Hey !

Nothing wrong with a Sani :p

Well either that or a Datsun GZ coupè but that I'll buy for myself. This car would be for the wife and she also likes the Sani. I just haven't told her yet that it's a toss up between the Sani and the Mazda as I know what her answer will be :D

Ok let me put it this way, choice between a brand new mazda 3 with mod cons and milleage around 6-7l/100 or an effed up 10 yr old nissan bakkie, milleage off the charts, will need engine overhaul in a couple months time, there will be electrical issues from all the aholes that tinkered with it and has absolutly no safety rating, abs or airbags or anything else like that.. Dude just hire a hitman if you want rid of your wife that badly :)

Ouch :D

But that is true I guess :o

Mazda 3 - and I'm talking from personal experience. Minor service was like R1 900 but then again I didn't have to pay because it was on a service plan.

I also saw a Mazda 3 come off very well in an accident with a Ford Escort XR3 - all the airbags deployed and the body stayed intact; in fact, the car could still be driven away from the scene.

As for service itself, Porters were excellent - they really know their stuff; don't know who is there in your quarters.
