iBurst has been extremely erratic this weekend with frequent disconnects and slow speeds (Northriding area).

Have been trying to get pcVtalk to work, but been unsuccesful. Which IP address and port needs to be stipulated to get the proggie to work so that I can try and ascertain what the problem is.

Guess no-one else had any problems over the weekend :(

ditto in CTN - no slow speeds but at least 2 disconnects per hour...

change IP either by reinitiating connection or change IP via router

Changing IP by disconnecting and reconnecting made absolutely no difference.

E-mailing the morons returned what all my e-mails to those inept fools returns, a huge void of non-response. They read their mails but couldn't be bothered to reply to them.

When changing your IP you need to restart Outlook or reset your LAN connection on your PC...

Some IP's are "dud's" i.e. slow d/u speeds or no connection or some sites don't resolve (assuming it is provided by one of the not so proficient backhaul ISP’s) so I generally test the IP first by checking the throughput via http://www.gam.co.za/connectivity/bandwidth.php if it does not exceed 800 Kbps I change the IP once more.

Thanks for the link. Will definitely make use of it in the future.

I always disconnect, wait a few minutes and then reconnect and restart all apps that require connectivity. It made absolutely bog all difference over the weekend though. Last night it would not connect at all even when I moved the aerial to face different towers. Just kept timing out.

Finally connected this morning, by which time I was out the door to the office to connect via our 2mb diginet line.

iBust was out for 6+ hours last night....

Was out when i got home at 6pm and was still out when i went to bed at midnight...

The incompetence must end!!!!

So I wasn't the only one. And there is not even an incident report on their site.

It will never end with this sorry excuse for a 'broadband' company (and I use that term very loosely).

Have applied for ADSL, so hopefully the modem will become what it has always been, an over-priced paper weight.
