Errol's tyres

I bought some Bridgestone RE002's from them. Saved just over R200 over any shop near me (including an official Bridgestone shop) and that was INCLUDING shipping costs! I will not hesitate to buy from them again! You can get free delivery on certain brands, but then they deliver to a partner tyre fitment shop, and you have to pay that shop to fit your tyres.

R200 is not much.
I get my local tyre dealer to match any price. Less hassle than buying online and then taking to a shop to install. If there are any problems the shop won't want tot help you.

Just something else.

Is it true that if you drive an all wheel drive that you have to replace all 4 other wise you damage the diffs?

Anyone recommend a good tyre for 225 65 17?

Hi All.

Anyone bought from http://www.errolstyres.co.za/ before?

If yes, how did you find them?

Regards
Ryan

I got very good service and prices were good. They beat all the other tyre shops I looked at with the same brand even those who were running specials. They also have some lesser known brands that are quite good. I fitted GT Radial tyres on my Captiva which I am pretty happy with thus far.

Only if your 4x4 is:
1. Permanent all wheel drive or
2. You plan to drive long distances on hard surfaces with 4x4 mode engaged.

This is to prevent the central differential from wearing out do to excessive speed differences between the front and back wheels.

It's the same reason why you always replace tyres in pairs on two wheel drive vehicles.
If a driving wheel on one side rotates faster than the wheel on the opposite side it makes the spider gears in the differential spin a lot and wear out since they're doing much more work than they're designed to do. The spider gears in a diff are only meant to operate when not driving in a straight line (i.e. turning corners or following bends in a road).

If you have selective 4x4 and only engage it off road on soft surfaces or for short durations then it should be okay to replace the tyres in pairs.

Saved 3k buying 2 rear tyres from him... tyres arrived in 5 days... was very happy

I'm just waiting for December bonus to buy my 4 tyres, they are the only place in South Africa that sells 205/60/14 tyres

Once you get the tyres. Do you just skip down to your closet tyre store and get them fitted?

That what I usually do, R40 per tyre for balancing and fitting.

Where on earth do you get that price for fitment??.

I had my wife's car at Autoquip for alignment and ask them. They want to charge R640 for changing 4 tyres.....

I always use Errol's as a point of refernece/negotiation tool but have not purchased from them yet.

In Cape Town my go to guy is I E Tyres in airport industrial, considerably cheaper than anyone else.

The tyres from Erroll are R1630 each. The next cheapest place was R2195. And they refused to match it as they would make a loss

That R640 was for fitting tyres if I supplied them.

If you don't mind me asking....what is the name of the workshop that fitted for R40

Autostyle, these are for 14" tyres, the price goes up the bigger the tyre.
These silly franchises are mad with prices.

I found a place that is even cheaper than errol's, I am paying now R1020/tyre instead of R1144
Highveld tyres in Witbank

Errol's Tyres has been my go-to tyre place for the past couple of years already. Recommended a few friends too...Fare competitive prices, speedy delivery of tyres and fitting at the nearest fitment centre in my backyard...Everyone else just seems crazily priced when you start looking for R19-sized tyres...
