So I try to access the Afrihost Clientzone when I get the following error attached below. I contacted my ISP (MindTheSpeed) and they confirmed that there is no error from their side.

Afrihost just claims that the error is indeed on my side but I am sure I'm not unless I have a minor error on my router (Mikrotik RB 951ui-2HnD) though I doubt it

Go here and check your external IP

Then do a whois search to check who that IP belongs to.

If it's a major ISP then AH ****ed it up. If it's someone else then you've probably been hacked.

Also...you're not using a VPN by chance?

Good on afrihost for blocking proxied connections to protect credentials, if this is legit.

You might be able to see an intermediate proxy by checking for a 'via' header in the response of web requests, or if you go here you can see what your browser sends. Look for 'X-Forwarded-For' header entries.

This is the result of my WHOIS query. ISP is MindTheSpeed. I also attached a result of my intermediate proxy check.

Have a look at my previous message for the WHOIS search result. Only VPN I run is for certain addresses to go through it which does not include the IP of the Afrihost portal. The range is a few /24 networks in the 192.168 range

Your setup is probably broken then. The chances of AH flagging their own IPs as proxy are essentially zero. Or rather if yes we'd have a dozen complaints on here because every AH customer would get flagged...not 1 complaint by 1 guy who also happens to run stuff through a diy vpn config

You might have missed some things in the OP. For clarity's sake here is the full details. I am not with Afrihost as my ISP. I am with MindTheSpeed as my ISP.

If I do a NSLOOKUP in CMD I get that that clientzone.afrihost.com resolves to 169.1.1.87, 165.73.15.23 and 165.73.15.21. The VPN I have is an site to site VPN which I dont direct any connections to aforementioned IP's

Could be this, I dont know why internet explorer handles some connection info...

Make sure its set to this:

Morning,

Can you send me a pm with your clientzone email for me to have a look at the IP address that was flagged and blocked.

Did not realise we were scraping the class C barrel already...
We are are, though the IPs that I forward are part of another LAN. Just makes easier to access remote LAN devices easier via that LAN device's IP addresses
