Error message help needed.

i boughta pc game from cash crusaders called Three Kingdoms - Fate Of The Dragon and it installs up to 64% then gives the following message

"an error has occured during the move data process:-2147024895
component: executable file and data
file group:res565
file:e:\data2.cab"

i am running windows xp proffesional however i think this needs an earlier O/s to work.

what can i do if anything?

ah ha my cd-rom has been acting up lately, is it that?

its second hand for sure but there is no scratches on it except on the printed side there is a scratch would the laser reading the other side of the disc be affected by that scratch on the opposite side, like the lazer passing through the disc?

LOL ya the printed side is the foilish data layer, if that gets scratched then the disk is pretty much screwed.

no i meant the side the picture is on has the ink scratched.
